Yes you Welsh man mountain

His head may now be upside down, but what a proper West Ham hero this man really is, season after season.
Down the pecking order but steps in and mans up. Blocks everything again today. Hope he keeps his place in the team on these performances.

Polite i think you lose the fact that he may not be a very good all round player
But he is a very good centre back and a very good character in the squad

Not a fan as I think he isn't a very good player. He is however capable of good performances and so far this season he has been good when called upon.
For a 4th choice centre back I don't think we could ask for better.
Long may his form continue... but preferably Reid will be fit again soon.

He had a decent game for his usual lunge blocks.
Expect him to be toilet again very shortly.

Throwing yourself around last ditch is not an overated skill if it's required. It wasn't Ginge's fault the team were poor in fornt to make him play with that desire. What a nonsense comment!

imho the reason he makes all these last ditch tackles is because he has to, he can't tackle. Also when you make last ditch tackles (Every time in his case)
he dont have to make a last ditch tackle he could stand aside and let them go like some other defenders would and do,
but each to our own thoughts.

Can't question JC's commitment. Puts his body on the line and has played his part in the last two clean sheets.
Ogbonna was my man of the match yesterday, been very impressed with him thus far. Him and Reid clearly first choice CB for me.

*Holds hands up*
I'm not a fan, imho the reason he makes all these last ditch tackles is because he has to, he can't tackle.
Also when you make last ditch tackles (Every time in his case) you're not in control and also you're providing a smaller target, if you stand up you're a bigger obstruction, yes you might put the attacker off by sliding in but you're more likely to commit a foul or be left on the ground as they go round you.
Luckily yesterday the ref didn't spot the hand ball, i know it was accidental but i could have cost us the game.
Yes he has guts and determination, so does Steven Hawking but i wouldn't put him in defence either!
I agree every side needs players who give it 100% heart, Dailly did and he was booed!

Unlike some I'll come on and post, right or wrong.

If we had another 10 players with Collins guts and determination
We would have a very good team, what he lacks in skill he makes
Up for grit and eagerness to win.

is collins good again now? seems whenever he plays well he gets loads of priase on here, then if he has a bad game we should get rid.

I agree with Alex, I'd much prefer a primadonna of a centre half who never made any effort to block a shot or put in crunching tackles but could run a bit when they want to. Guaranteed victory if all our defenders are like that.

Great defensive performance as was the whole back line. Tomkins at right back is also looking ok just lacks the pace Jenkinson has. Whilst we are struggling to make goals we are lucky to have the defence we have.

Say what you like about Ginge but in games like yesterday away from home settling for a point, he was the perfect defender to play. No fucking nonsense, body and beard on the line, hardly gets done in the air and another stellar performance from a cult hero. "there's only one ginger Pele" He has his faults but so does every player and if you are big lump with a ginger beard and want to play football go watch James Collins.

He was excellent today..maybe being a Cardiff boy gave an extra edge..but every side needs a Ginge..Not the greatest technically..but for heart and commitment you can always rely on him.

Fantastic today, again. Should have connected much better for that shot but stopped several goal bound efforts. Obviously, he'll make the odd mistake but having him on the team sheet is no worry at all.
